Reformed Spice Girls could use BBC talent show to find replacements for Mel C and Victoria Beckham

The reformed Spice Girls trio could be about to search for a replacement for Victoria Beckham and Mel C via a BBC talent show .

The band are in talks to launch a search for a wannabe to join them on stage in Hyde Park next July, to coincide with the 21st anniversary of their debut single.

The auditions and heats would culminate in a live week of shows, set for April.

It would follow a similar format to Andrew Lloyd Webber’s search for stars of his musicals, with talent shows How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria and Any Dream Will Do.

Mel B arrives at the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy AwardsThe BBC are currently producing another talent show searching for the star of a new Take That musical.

Mel B said last week that she was reuniting with Emma Bunton and Geri Horner but without their former bandmates “because the other b*****s didn’t want to do it.”

She added: “I don’t think we could ever replace Sporty or Posh but I’d like to invite other people to sing with us.”

Mel C has said she did not want to rejoin the group after they reached a peak by reuniting for the 2012 London Olympics.
